Dec holidays!!!

was really glad to be home. Zu and Rafidah came down from Sg and spent a few days. that was really fun..(and i managed to get really nice pics wif my hp!) OD'd on shopping wif my shopping gals, Abi and Jo-ann! haha. and managed to catch up wif REALLY long lost skool mates. i also had reunion bbq wif my sec skool prefects, but the pics are in a another entry.

I heard models inject morphine into their feet so that they last thru a season of runway modelling.
GIMME SOME OF THAT!
my feet are killing me! we've been having rehearsals and performances almost every nite for the past week. that's at least 5 hrs of standing per rehearsal!
i can't say i'm complaining too much coz the experience is magical. last monday, syc sang at a Swedish Church festival called the Sankta Lucia festival. we did a few of our own songs and we sang a few wif the swedish choir. when we first sang "Kristallen" a swedish folksong during soundcheck, the swedish choir wept unabashedly. that our music touched them and reminded them of home moved me. i was trying very hard to finish the song.
and what is a festival without food and merry making? the Swedish community hosted a wonderful traditional Swedish christmas food! (yes, there were swedish meatballs!)
we had another performance last nite at esplanade for Pedals and Pipes. it showcased the esplanade concert hall organ, these huge blaring piece of engineering genius! and combining organ with the dainty violin and a choir of angels ...
was beautiful.
not that we are angels, of course, but doesn't mean we can't sound like one. haha.
and now, to culminate the whole christmas singing season, is our sunday concert, Winter Solstice. I'm really looking forward to it. the theme this time is a truly romantic christmas. with a the first set of pieces painting a nothern snowscape, i can almost imagine it snowing in the concert hall. 
i guess that's what the music does to u. it brings to places you've never been before with a group of strangers who happen to love singing as you do.
and after the last sound ends, you find yourself in a beautiful place with the best of friends.

thanks JCRC for the good, the bad (& the ugly!). haha.... really going to miss working wif u guys. you guys are a great team!
